Looking for an Attorney to speak to about an active lawsuit

For the State of Tennessee
I’m looking for an Attorney to speak to about an active lawsuit (or receive some help). The lawsuit is in regards to unpaid attorney fees and has been filed by my wife’s old Attorney (Texas); against her. The attorney hired a lawyer in TN and she was served. The lawyer is requesting MY information as my wife is unable to pay the unpaid fees due to not working. Please note I am NOT on the original promissory note issued by the previous Attorney from Texas. I need to know for SURE if this Lawyer in TN can in fact come after me regarding this and if the Lawyer can take my property. All assets are in my name and none in my wife’s name. My name is NOWHERE included in this case at all, or even the original issuance of the Promissory Note. This is time sensitive and I would greatly appreciate the help. Thank you in advance!

TX is a community property state which means it would be legal to come after you in the state of TX. However, TN is NOT a community property state. So, it would not be legal to come after you for your wife’s debt in the state of TN. I would call and verify what I’ve said with a civil litigation attorney, though. Initial consultation is typically free. Best of luck!
