What is considered kid napping?
Long story short…my sister in law moved with her baby’s father and family to New Mexico, from Hawaii where the mother and child have legal residency. Baby was born in Hawaii. So her and the father are no longer in a relationship and she wants to move back home to Hawaii with Baby. Her Baby’s father was fine with it but now his mother is saying it’s kidnapping if my sister in law take Baby home with her. side note the parents of child are not married. Please I need urgent and clear answers. She feels unwelcomed and uncomfortable in that home with them.

So I filed to reopen my custody case against my exhusband because he refuses to come to an agreement about my son starting school in August.
I filed May 11th. I sent it by certified mail to him that day. They attempted to deliver it multiple times and were unsuccessful and have been holding it at the post office since the 17th for him to pick up.
I also offered to give him a copy in person when we met for our most recent exchange (I recorded it) and he refused to even look at it.
I sent him and his wife a text letting them know they needed to go pick up the letter at the post office. They have refused to answer.
I also sent them an email with the summons and all the paperwork I filed. They have refused to answer the email as well.
He says he doesn’t care what I filed and it doesn’t matter to him…
What will happen? I know he has 30 days from when he is served to answer but what if he refuses to accept it? How long will I have to wait? Will the judge set a court date? Will he just grant my motion? All my motion asked for was that we go to mediation…
I think my ex thinks if he ignores it, then nothing will happen. I am representing myself so I don’t have an attorney to ask…
I’m in Arkansas.

Michigan. Been “dating” boyfriend for ten and a half years. We have a five year old child together. We live in a house together which he bought. My name is nothing. Financially we are not tied together in anyway. We have no legal custody arrangement other than him being on the birth certificate. Home, where my family is, is two and a half hours away. I have a job so I am not dependent on him, but he provides for our child and I. He is on call for work 24/7 and annually has over a thousand hours of overtime on average. If I wanted to leave, what’s the best steps to take?

This coming Friday is the final divorce hearing for my son. His wife took off with their son to Pennsylvania and has blocked him and his family from all communication. There was no fight or anything. Anyway, she didn’t answer either the Petition or the Intent to file default. She didn’t do the child in the middle class or the court class that was ordered.
What can we expect at the hearing?

CPS was recently called on a family I’m very close to related to 2 older children (16ish) but still under 18. The adults in the home have serious alcohol abuse and this is causing severe neglect to the children. CPS opened a case, I’m the point of contact for follow up. The caseworker showed up to the home yesterday, and the mom refused entry (well within her rights). I’m wondering what will happen next. Will they just close the case because they couldn’t get access to the house or children? I’m also wondering what the steps are that might be taken so I’m better prepared for follow ups that might occur or if there’s more information I need to gather to pass along. Case is opened in the state of Utah.

How does child support work? Asking for a sibling. His ex came back into his life again bc his son started asking about his dad. He met my brother and likes him. So now the mom says she wants $500 a month. He already pays $400 a month for another child and he has no issues paying the $500 for another but he will definitely be broke after that and rent and all that. I asked him why not go to court. He said the court wouldn’t care about the other child and he’d probably pay more than $500 so that’s the better deal for him. Curious if anyone has any experience or information that could help him.

Looking for advice on what to do. I dont even know where to begin or what my options are. I have an 8 year old whos biological father hasn’t been in her life since she was a year old. He has been in and out of jail for possesion charges since then.
Only thing linking her to that person is her last name thst i desperately want to change.

I am married now to a man who has raised her as his own. I had met with a lawyer a few years ago and he said it would be about 4k just to start and didnt seem to offer more help than that.
I was wondering if there was any sort of abandonment law for this that would terminate his rights?
Also, We were never married, and there is no “custody agreement” when she was a new born and we were together, the state tried to sue him for the medicaid she was receiving so i told them that we live together, which we were at the time, so they wouldnt pursue him for the money.
We went to mediation when she was 6 months old, signed an agreement but apparently it was never filed? Not sure on that.

Thanks for any advice!

What are the consequences of moving out of state with a child without the courts approval? We just found out our lease won’t be renewing for our apartment and with the insane cost of renting in Florida now my husband and I simply can’t afford to stay here and keep a roof over our childrens head. The average rent right now starts around $2,400 and goes up from there which is impossible for us to afford and we’d never even qualify for anything because they require 3x rent in income which we don’t have even with both of us working full time. So we have absolutely no option but to leave Florida and we only have 5 weeks to be out of our unit. We were both offered jobs by my husbands mother if we move north to where his family is but we’d have income immediately and a place to rent to that’s 1/3 of what it cost in Florida for a bigger place. My daughter does school virtually so she would be able to continue to do school through that same program. But she’s 13yrs old and in 9th grade so she’s older and she’s never met her biological father. He’s currently trying to fight me for 50/50 custody despite having no place of his own to live, a permanent injunction on him for dv involving his other children and their mother, and admitted continued marijuana use multiple times daily to the judge in that case just a few weeks ago. He doesn’t live a stable life that my daughter should even be exposed to especially not when I’m the only parent she’s even been with and known. I plan on filing the paperwork to ask for permission from the court to relocate but I know he’s going to fight me on it especially if the court grants him some sort of custody/visitation when we go to trial next week. But we have absolutely no choice but to leave this state and we have other children we have to also think about being able to support and keep housed we can’t just have our entire family on the streets because of this man that’s never been part of her life and isn’t even stable.
But what exactly are the consequences that I’m looking at if the court doesn’t grant me permission to move with her(since I know he’ll fight it) and I do it anyways because we literally have absolutely no choice? We have no place to go, no family here to help, nothing. Up north we have jobs waiting, a place to rent we can afford, family to help us out, etc but am I going to end up getting arrested because we have no choice but to move and I refuse to leave my daughter behind by herself when she’s 13 and I’m the only parent she’s ever known? I’m from Florida
